Windrose Workbench Recipes: Lv1–Lv3
The Workbench is the core crafting station in Windrose. It has three upgrade tiers, each unlocking progressively stronger tools, weapons, armor, and utility items.
Workbench Overview
The Workbench is your first and most important crafting station. Starting at Level 1, it gives you access to basic stone and copper tools. Upgrading to Level 2 unlocks iron-tier equipment and advanced utility items like the Anvil and Sailor Backpack. Level 3 introduces endgame recipes such as the Bosun Backpack and Timber refinement.
Workbench Upgrade Path
Upgrading the Workbench requires building specific add-on structures near it within the same Bonfire radius:
| Level | Upgrade Add-On | Materials Required |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | None (Base Station) | 5 Wood to build |
| Level 2 | Sawhorse | 20 Wood + 10 Copper Ingot |
| Level 3 | Toolbox | 10 Wood + 20 Nails + 5 Foothills Iron Ingot |
Important Notes
- Proximity system: The add-on structure (Sawhorse or Toolbox) must be built within the same Bonfire radius as the Workbench to trigger the upgrade.
- Recipe discovery: Some recipes only appear after you pick up a new material for the first time. For example, harvesting Hardwood for the first time may unlock Timber and related Lv3 recipes.
- Quest gates: Some advanced recipes may require completing specific story quests before they appear in your crafting menu.

Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I upgrade the Workbench to Lv2?
- Gather the required upgrade materials and interact with your existing Workbench. The upgrade option appears once you have the prerequisite items in your inventory. You typically need a significant amount of Foothills Iron Ingots and other mid-game resources.
- How do I unlock hidden or special recipes?
- Most recipes unlock automatically when you upgrade the Workbench to the appropriate tier. Some recipes also require you to have discovered or crafted prerequisite components first. For example, the Sailor Backpack requires a Torn Sailcloth Bag in your inventory before it becomes visible, and Timber only appears after you have crafted Wooden Planks and reached Lv3.
- What is the difference between Repair Kit and Combat Repair Kit?
- The basic Repair Kit (10 Wood) restores durability on common tools and structures. The Combat Repair Kit (3 Wooden Plank + 1 Rum Bottle + 1 Steel Nails) is required for repairing weapons and combat gear. The Master Combat Repair Kit is used for high-tier iron equipment.
- Which Workbench level do I need for backpacks?
- The Torn Sailcloth Bag is available at Lv1. The Sailor Backpack requires Lv2. The Bosun Backpack requires Lv3 and consumes a Sailor Backpack as an ingredient — so plan your upgrades carefully.
